take-californyuh: christinsanity: Sounds like a plan… …in a nutshell. Can’t let this just pass. So,  here’s the accurate stuff from the Christian viewpoint, all of which can be found in the Bible. God created humans in his image. There was no sin on earth to begin with. God gave one instruction, thereby giving them the choice to live in perfection with God forever, or to have the knowledge of everything that is good and evil. They made the choice, at some point in their lives, to take knowledge over God. That is where sin started. It was not something that was created into humans by God. So, God tried rules, giving Moses a list of commandments, and a lengthy list of instructions on what had to be done for the people to atone for their own sins. That didn’t work out. So then God decided to send Jesus to die on behalf of all humans. God did not condemn us to live in sin from the outset - Adam and Eve chose that for the rest of humanity.
