tough-titty: lumumbabandele: Education is a Human Right and should be free.  YES, even graduate school WOOOOOW.  This is so wrong, and is yet another reason I’m grateful to live in Australia. My husband is halfway through a one year university course that bridges the gap for people who didn’t our couldn’t finish high school. It’s paid for by our government to give people a chance to get into uni. Next year, we start accruing a student debt. It will be interest free. We will not have to pay anything on it until he starts earning over $30,000 a year. If he loses his job after getting one in the years to come, he won’t have to pay until he’s gotten another job. And he’s still eligible for the free health care and, if he ever needs it, welfare.
